Abstract

The rise of platform-based technological ecosystems has fundamentally reconfigured the dynamics of innovation, intellectual property allocation, and the normative foundations of patent protection. These platforms function not merely as market participants but as infrastructural authorities that govern data flows, algorithmic processes, and developer interactions. Such dominance introduces unprecedented legal and structural complexities regarding ownership, Inventorship, competition, and regulatory fairness. This paper examines how platform-centric innovation reshapes the purpose of patent law, challenges traditional principles of inventive contribution, and demands new regulatory paradigms for equitable technological development. It argues that patent systems must evolve to address ecosystem-level dependencies, asymmetric power structures, and algorithmically mediated invention processes. The findings reveal that traditional patent doctrine, designed for discrete and human-centered invention, is increasingly inadequate in the era of pervasive platform influence.
