Abstract

Transit infrastructure serves not only as a functional network for urban mobility but also as a canvas for architectural identity. This study investigates the interplay between branding and functionality in transit architecture, examining how aesthetic expression can coexist with operational efficiency. Through analysis of case studies and design strategies, the research highlights the tensions and synergies between visually distinctive designs and practical requirements such as passenger flow, safety, accessibility, and maintenance. The findings suggest that successful transit infrastructure achieves a balance where architectural branding enhances user experience without compromising functional performance. Recommendations are provided for architects, urban planners, and transit authorities seeking to integrate identity and efficiency in contemporary transit design.
